Hey all, was just stopping in to see if I could get any help on the matter of this MOW, the Soleil-Royal. I had just gotten the mission, defeated the spanish galleons, and went to the governor to find out why the french fleet didn't meet me there. I remembered from a while back about a french ship of the line, a unique MOW available someway from the french navy. Thinking this may be it, I was ecstatic. Perhaps my great lone victory(because that captain commanding the Soleil-Royal sure enjoyed...

Capturing the Soleil Royal

Hey all.. It seems as though I've ran into an issue regarding the ship, Soleil Royal. I completed the French questline, intending to board and capture this ship as my prize.. only to find out I'm unable to board it in combat. Has anyone else ran into this problem before, or know of a way to fix it?

On a different note, I was wondering if anyone had ideas on changing the other unique ships so that they too had fixed stats as the Flying Dutchman and Soleil Royal do through editing the game...

Boarding enemy's ship question

Can you still board a ship when she is exceeding its crew capacity?. Because I tried to board the Soleil Royal after closing the french questline but I got as close as I could, I even crashed her and I didnt get the Boarding icon in my screen and I have a very good Bosun so I dont know why I cant board her. Her crew was like 1480 at that time.

GOF: Saving ships for Pirates: aka Port Controllers

I'm playing the peter blood story line. I am unable to go into french or english ports with an english flag. This is before and after I paid off my bounty with a diplomat. That said any port I go into I am fired apon. I wanted to save the ship you get in the beginning but so far I can't go to any ports to do so. Either bugged relations or not.

Long story short... Where can I store ships as a pirate. I can't find a port controller in any of the pirate cities....

Dutch Governor's quest

Mates, As many hours as I've played COAS, I'm just now getting into the Dutch Governor's quests.

Questions: Is it possible to defeat the English shore invasion on Jamaica south of Ft. Orange? I defeat the naval force without a problem, but that's one tough shore party!

How many men does it require? I tried over and over again with 900 men and with fighters and myself having all the good stuff at level 23 across the party.

I left to get more men, but Ft Orange gets sacked in the meantime and...

Dutch governor quest documents: attacked at Port of Spain

Hi guys! I need some help with this mission. I don´t know if I´m doing something wrong but every time I sail to Port of Spain to bring the documents I get shot by english ships, soldiers and fort. Even if I use the english flag and moor on the other beaches. I´m playing on the dutch side. I´m a noob and I´m using the Combined Mod 3.2.0. Can anyone help me, I´ve got a few days before I fail the quest. thanks

Little Known Navigational Map Tip for COAS (Vanilla, GOF, or Eras)

All,

A rarely known but simple fact regarding maps in COAS.
If you want to reduce your inventory items clutter regarding maps in game (there are 28 unique maps!), give ALL OF THEM to your assigned navigator. When you press the "M" key, all maps will be shown just as if they were in your inventory. This does not apply to treasure maps that are quest items.

Just don't forgot to take them back if you decide to fire him/her or your will lose them all.
Always avoid assigning him as a captain...

All,

I did not know where to put this post, so if I am in error please correct.

Anyway, I realize that AoP2: CoAS is now becoming a harder game to find in its original boxed form now that its is going on 5 years old.

I recently retired from the US military was going through my older DVD collection and found another complete boxed copy of the game!

This is a fully licensed DVD complete with original case, slip jacket, instruction manual, and map.
I do not want any compensation for the game...

COAS GOF Mod 2.0 Starter Problems

Hello there.

Im new to this Game and started with those Mods Mentioned in the Topic. I really struggling with the Start and i just always ran into Death.

I tryed lots of settings but i always dont get any Gain.

Settings: Lawrence Beltropa
Mod: GOF 2.0 Full Install
Difficulty: From Lieutnant to Commodore
Mods activated: Everything ON
Cannons: Inbetween
Battle Type: Dynamic & Tactical both tryed

I start on Bermudas and tryed to buy Crew. Next Start i tryed to hire Officer. Next one i tryed to...

Confused about Combat Controls

I don't know if this is a tip request or a techincal issue but my combat controls seemed to be incorrect from everything I am reading.

I believe that when I press left click I am supposed to swing right?
And shift+left clicking should make me parry or something like that?

For some reason this isn't what happens at all...when I left click I thrust (which my options menu tells me is right click) and when I shift-click+any button (which should get me the alternate attacks also listed on the...

I'm Running Windows 8 32bit, i bought this game, so i install this game, and when i open this game . It asks me to proceed and when i say "yes" i get an error saying "unable to proceed" ( error 1275)" insufficent privliges: you must be the administrator to run this application for the first time". i am the administrator and there is no other account on the computer.can someone help me please:dunno:dunno:dunno, i would really like to play this game :bonaparte

All,

Another should be intuitive fact about the game, but people seem to overlook the helpfulness.

Tired of crossing the Caribbean looking for food, medicine or rum only to find out stores have little in stock?

No problem, if you plan a little ahead.

You can stored large amounts of goods on your ships BEFORE you put them into port control.
The main advantage is the goods do not spoil, and there are no rats to eat the commodities, and its cost nothing beyond the initial storage fee for port...

Reputation and loyalty

hi, everibody, this my first post! I've been playing AOP COAS for a while and I love it, despite the issues...

there are several thing I cant completely grasp, one beeing reputation and loyalty. I know there's been plenty of discusion about it, but I still don get it. Thing is, my character has "hero" reputation and all my officers have hero or man of honor reputation, but they all hate me. and one officer that is a scoundrel has like 75 loyalty.

some one can explain me this or direct me to...

Making AoP2 City of Abandoned ships work!

Ive downloaded AoP2 City of abandoned ships and installed it onto my windows 7 system. Through ISO it made a virtual K drive for game. But when i click to open game it just asks me for disk?? I have no disk, thats why the K drive is there?? Another time it has opened the initial window where i selected play - it just closed the window and nothing happened...... I played this game years ago and love it. Ive also got Patch and MOD files ready to install, but i cant even get the main game...

Hey there again sea dogs!

In course of a quest given to me by a governor I experienced that I would finally need some higher rank in stealth because I have to get get into a hostile town without being picked up. Now, how do I effectively increase that skill? Do I always have to encounter ships flying the same flag as I do (notice, I know how to change flags and I unlocked all) or would it e.g. also work if I fly the fag of a different nation which is neither mine nor the hostile's?

Hi Everyone!

Got a Char on level 38 and all ship abilities are at 100. Problem is I need one more "ship abilities" point in order to obtain the Spanish flag so I can complete spy missions for the Dutch. Dutch are at war with Spain and I dont have a Spanish flag to fly so I can't get into the city of Santiago without being detected. Even if I have a trading lic and come from the jungle. Spanish are at war with everyone else so no other flags work either. Any Ideas? My stealth is...
