Beware of Ascold's quest!!!

Hello

I'm doing now the Leif Erikkson part of Ascold's quest. The problem is that, when Leif changes his body with mine I lose the letter of marque and the title. Even if I get another letter, I must start again the title pursuit. In the English quest line I just finished the attack of Santiago. My question is: If I finish now Ascold's quest (and lose my title/patent) can I still receive the last title ( commodore) from the governor-general doing the last 3 english quests or I must finish the...

1. drink in tavern, ask for tavern stories. DONE

Hey guys, forum newbie here :ahoy
I've been playing CoAS for a while, but only recently with the GoF mod (latest version, 1.2 + patch, loving it btw!), and I only have one question: When playing as a pirate (I've modded a Russian replacement for Lawrence Beltropa in and it's him I'm playing as), where do you pick up the Blue Bird quest? I had the bright idea to lead a few raids out of Bermuda (where I started) to earn some money for a Dutch trading license to get into Marigot, where I planned...

Hello everyone!

I'd like to first congratulate the people keeping this forum - it has a very modern and slick feel to it, despite its thematic.

I've played CoaS on and off ever since it first appeared. And before that I had played Carribean Tales, multiple times. Sadly, in CoaS, due to the many bugs and missing quest information, I was unable to finish many quests.

But now I'm back at it, ready to start anew. I will need, however, a few indications about how to properly setup a new game....

What makes enemy ships surrender?

Hello,

Can anyone explain (or point me to earlier thred) what makes enemy ships surrender or not to surrender?

I tried searching the forum, but found only vague remarks to reputation and leadership.

I have a reputation of good sailor and leadership is 100. Ships used to surrender earlier in the game, but not anymore.

I'm playing the regular game without added mods.

Reload time on GoF

Hi,

I am playing GoF right now, and the cannon reload time seems a bit too fast. It's the Dynamic campaign with "realistic" reload time. Most of my ships reload the broadside cannons before I can entirely turn around to fire the other side, making the tactics of turning a bit pointless. Also, enemy ships seem to have become a machine gun. I tried disabling the "realistic" reload on the mod, and it doesn't seem to make any difference. Is this to be expected from this mod?

Hello all, I am playing GOF and I was wondering the following things:

1) Right now, I'm commanding a level 6 pinnace. I am trying to get into the crew quarters to relieve some officers I no longer need, but I have no idea how to get to the crew quarters (or if I even can). I go out of the cabin to the cargo hold and that's about it.

2) If I take over a settlement from the Spanish/Dutch etc, do I become the governor of said settlement and is there any financial reward (e.g. income) for...

Neutral nation attacks

Exactly what it says in the title. My nation (England) is neutral with France. My personal reputation with France is neutral. I haven't attacked any French ships or anything. Yet, I can't enter a French town's harbour without being fired on. If I enter by land, I am accosted by French soldiers. They shouldn't be hostile, so what gives? I am not flying a jolly roger or any other nation's flag but my own.

hi, everibody, this my first post! I've been playing AOP COAS for a while and I love it, despite the issues...

there are several thing I cant completely grasp, one beeing reputation and loyalty. I know there's been plenty of discusion about it, but I still don get it. Thing is, my character has "hero" reputation and all my officers have hero or man of honor reputation, but they all hate me. and one officer that is a scoundrel has like 75 loyalty.

some one can explain me this or direct me to...

Isabella quest

Now i started the Isabella quest, and since i played original AoP 2 i remembered what to do (go to her house and stuff), but now when i went to her house, its locked.
I was like wtf, but i thought i should go to the church first.
I went there and went back to the house, still locked. I was able to enter the house using debug mode so i could continue with the quest, but its kinda frustrating to write a code every damn time i want to enter that house...

does any one knows what happens when you have the same skill as one of your officers? do they stack? or am i supposed to choose diferent ones... becouse the officers end up having all of them, so... i dont see the point.

Game annoyances

If there is a fix or mod for any of these annoyances please let me know. I'm playing COAS with GOF + Eras. If its just me, tell me. If these are fixed in POTC tell me. Here they are.

1) I don't always hear enemy cannon fire or the ball splashes near my ship.
2) Sails don't change with the wind.
3) Wind speeds are very low.

I believe these are game issues not MOD issues, but I could be wrong.

Does Smuggling Effect the Loyalty of Officers?

My Preferred profession in this game early on has always been Smuggling. The search for that perfect ship that has the above average speed and Cargo space, is fun. ad when you find that merchant ship with 2k+ cargo and 16+ max speed you know you have a jewel that can outrun almost anything the patrols can throw at you especially when you disarm it and strip it down to its bare minimum supplies for weight reduction. ;)

Then finding that perfect operation. like Dyes and Silk from Marigot to San...

who and what officers would you consider hiring?

me i hire regular fighters first, so to capture/sell ships. then i find ppl like jack sparrow, blaze/beatrice devlin, nathanel hawk, angelica for officers of navigation, bosun, treasurer, gunner and doctor according to skills, what do ya'll do???

I went to the bar to do the quest of flying Dutchman but then again I'm interested to do some smuggling first before searching the flying Dutchman and I went to cape boon beach to sell illegal item then after beating those English Guard I save first then went back on ship after that I saw the Flying Dutchman exchanging blow with the English ship. I can escape the flying dutchman but I'm not sure if I'll be able to see him again. I don't want to lose my officer and keep the Sea Wolf. I don't...
